Back to My Mac under Snow Leopard

Well look at that: it works!

I've had a few moments where BTMM sort of worked under Leopard, but not terribly reliably so I pretty much back-burnered using BTMM to access a few machines at the house directly from the outside. Using some port redirection, I could ssh in or screen share to one machine in a DMZ and then from there open a new screen sharing session to secondary machines.

However, I just spotted the MacBook Air in the Shared Items list this morning and thought I'd try the screen sharing and it worked perfectly the first time. So I went on to the media Mini and it too connected without any problems.

Interestingly a few things seem to have changed on the security front. In prior incarnations (at least the few times it worked) screen sharing didn't seem to require any additional authentication other than both machines being registered on MobileMe. Now it seems that the MobileMe connection just "opens the door" and then the regular screen sharing password or file sharing connection authentication must be used.

Server?
Leopard Server (10.5) doesn't have a MobileMe preference pane so I can't link the server into the loop this way, but I'm wondering if anyone out there with Snow Leopard Server can tell me whether this option exists. This would let me move some services out of the DMZ...

Correction (thanks @JDawson for the precision). I do have the MobileMe preference pane (how could I forgot since it synchronizes my calendars!), but it is missing the BTMM pane....

Hate to disagree with you but my copy of Leopard Server running on a G4 xserver has the mobileme preference pane. What it doesn't have is the Back To My Mac tab on said pane. Snow Leopard Server does have the Back To My Mac tab though.

You can have the tab appear in server in order to turn it on or off. You just need to temporarily remove a file from the system or user library. I had this working well but cannot remember what file you need to remove. If anyone knows can they please post.
